It's relatively easy to get to 12 as soon as you have the tech that gives +4 per worker and a governor with the tier 2 titanium tome equipped and dust efficiency rank 2 or 3. Can get a city from zero to fully built out (improvements-wise) in just a few turns.Īs soon as I hit 12 dust per worker (as opposed to 4 industry), every single worker in every single city for which this was true went into dust production. Once you turn the "hump" with Broken Lords, you literally just buy everything you need.
Not to mention how much more flexible dust is than industry (can use it globally, to heal, to buy stuff, etc). So you'll actually be more efficient just buying everything. Because even very high cost items (up to 2000 or so) won't have a buyout cost more than 3x the industry cost. It's important to note that due to how the buyout costs work, as soon as you can get roughly 3x the dust per worker as you can get industry per worker and you have the buyout cost reduction tech, you should stop putting people into industry.
